The world is reeling from three global upheavals.
The coronavirus pandemic, the outrage over racial injustice, and the global recession have exposed us. They've put pressure on the church in uncomfortable ways.
Today's podcast is my passionate plea to respond to God’s invitation.

1:02.0 | effect to hit us. And so there's a pressure on pastors, leaders, and churches that's made us all |
1:08.5 | uncomfortable. And as I'm speaking with folks, I'm realizing, oh, my gosh, people are busier than ever running around, |
1:16.0 | and there's a tremendous sense of anxiety in the air for many of us as pastors and leaders, |
1:22.0 | because there's so much uncertainty on so many levels that we are unable to control what's happening. And as one pastor said to me, |
1:30.7 | every week I feel this pressure to not get out of the park with my sermons. And it needs so much |
1:37.5 | space and time, which I don't have, because otherwise my people will tune in to some other |
1:42.5 | pastor around the world. And so we've not only got a |
1:48.7 | reclaim out of our heritage, a deep spirituality out of which we lead. We need to bring our people |
1:56.7 | with us as they are under great pressure. And we've got to change the scorecard for success |
2:02.6 | from things like attendance and how many folks are at a large gathering to deep transformation |
