At the end of every year, the folks here at TL1 and I look at the statistics of the show to try and learn what's working well and how we might improve. After looking at the top 10

episodes we felt like we should create their Hebrew language equivalents just

like the latest episode so over the last couple of months we went back and recorded the Hebrew versions for you

We'll be dropping the original English episodes into the podcast feed every once in a while

and post their Hebrew versions on the patron-only podcast feed.

It's a new twist on these older episodes.

Our patrons will find the Hebrew version on their private podcast feed.

I teach Hebrew through reading Facebook status of Gverat Dubrovsky, a fictitious old Polish Jewish lady. In Hebrew we call them Ima Pulania Polish mother and what we mean is

basically Jewish Polish mom. Out of Israel people call her a Jewish mother but in Israel as

there are lots of Jews she's a Polish mother imapulania. She's never

happy she sees herself as a victim. She complains in a passive aggressive way

using guilt against her loved ones. You know what I mean. The name of the Facebook page is Gveret Dubrovsky, Gveret Mrs, but you have to write

the page name in Hebrew. I'm going to put a link for this page on my website.

Vela Dubovsky is an epitome of non-P.C. language

when the Israeli government talked about releasing Palestinian terrorists with blood on their hands, she said that she does not

understand why they do it. They're going to drip blood all over her floor. At least the sofas are covered with plastic.

As a Hebrew teacher, I use Gveraduovsky

outrageous Facebook status as valid material for learners.

I teach through bumper stickers, through text on sewage covers, lost pets adds, anything really.
