Hello everyone. How's it going today? Hope you're doing well. Hope the garden is

talking about a shift on yesterday's episode. I talked about renting and gardening, so basically gardening

without a permanent property, right? Today I'm going to be talking about perennial gardening

for edibles. Some shifts in focus this year I've noticed a lot of

gardeners that are my friends have said you know what I'm going to actually focus on perennials that are

edible instead of only annuals because you know we can get

caught up in all of our tomatoes you know our our fruits our cucumbers our

our potatoes etc we can get really caught up in that and growing

those which is fantastic. I love growing them. I'm growing a ton of them this year.

However, if you're growing for food, specifically for food production for your family or you just want a little bit of a

lower effort edible garden there's a lot of things you can do on the

perennial side of life that makes your life easier, you know, get it set up once, harvest for a long time.

That is something that is extremely attractive to me and I'm sure probably to you as well.

So let's go ahead and talk about a couple true perennials

that you can grow as edibles in your garden. I would say the most classic one would be

asparagus. If you plant the crowns of asparagus in spring and then just exercise

extreme patients, something that I kind of lack for the first few years, you can get six to eight weeks of asparagus harvest every

single spring effectively for the rest of your life as long as you care for it
