Summary
Okmulgee Police Chief Joe Prentice said a passerby reported "something odd" in a river near Sharp Road on Oct. 14. Several law enforcement agencies arrived to help when officers found the remains.
Prentice saw "body pieces in the water."
Law enforcement officers spent the weekend researching the remains and a possible link to the men last seen Oct. 9.
Billy, Mark, Mike, and Alex Chastain were reported missing on Oct. 10. They reportedly left Billy Chastain's home on bicycles about 8 p.m. The men's phones apparently went to voicemail.
Billy Chastain, Mark Chastain, Sparks, and Stevens "planned some form of criminal act," Prentice stated at a press conference Monday, Oct. 17. Prentice stated he didn't know what the men meant by "struck a lick big enough for all of them."
Investigators examined a salvage yard and a scrap yard for remains and found "violent event" evidence. Joe Kennedy, the salvage yard's owner, is missing.
Prentice believes all the remains have been removed. Shot and dismembered, according to reports.
Prentice said the victims' families are "distraught" by the "violent occurrence"
