What up, guys. Welcome to the Chichita podcast episode. God knows what number and nobody really cares, but there's some number for us to categorically put these up in a somewhere on the inner web so you guys can watch them, right?

0:14.0

Today's podcast is, for me, it's going to be a fun one. So I got asked a question. It's actually been asked a bunch of times. And the question is, like,

0:22.9

Chewy, like, what have you learned from jiu-jitsu that has affected your life off the

0:26.7

mats? And when people say jih-suitzoo, I'll sort of lump that together with grappling, right? What

0:31.2

have you learned in grappling that's changed your life off the mats? So wrestling, jihitsu, so forth.

0:39.6

And I've never been able to really answer that question directly on because I became an adult on the mats. You know, when I started

0:45.3

grappling, I was, you know, in high school, was it 15 years old? And then now I'm 40. So I've been

0:53.3

grappling longer than I have not been grappling in my life, right?

0:57.1

We've passed that halfway point.

0:59.4

So I don't know.

1:00.4

I don't know like how it's changed me because it's changed me in innumerable ways.

1:05.9

And I don't know who I would have been without it.

1:08.3

No, I think a lot of the lessons that you get from grappling, you can get elsewhere, you know, other disciplines, but I learned from grappling. And so

1:16.0

what we're going to do today is I've been collecting a list of ideas for, you know, a number of

1:21.8

years. And I eventually want to make like a video on it or something like that, but I figured we

1:27.1

would just wrap about some of these rules or lessons, if you will, from

1:31.6

BJJ that have changed my life or have influenced my life.

1:36.3

And I'll talk about how they came to be on the mats and then how they have affected my life off the mats.

1:47.2

And so hopefully this is interesting for you guys or you enjoy the podcast.

1:59.0

One of the things from talking with you all through Instagram or getting messages from you or talking to you in person or a lot of you that are in my email list, I get my daily email as part of the shoe crew.

2:01.7

A lot of you guys send me messages and you say, man like i really like your stuff and it's more than just jiu jitsu you know recently i uh i posted i i didn't mean

2:09.3

for it to sound grumpy or anything but i posted a message up on instagram the other day and i was
