0:27.8	There's a new report out earlier today that 31 percent.
0:35.9	It's so funny that the numbers so precise.
0:38.0	Let's just say roughly a third of US renters did not pay their rent on April 1st.
0:46.5	And as far as the data knows the data crunchers know have not paid it yet.
0:53.5	It's because we have so many tens of millions of Americans who've now lost their jobs.
1:01.1	And unemployment compensation in most states has not kicked in because of the problem
1:08.1	as in implementing the new regime for unemployment compensation.
1:13.9	So I want to tell you something that's clear from everything I've read about the problems
1:21.0	with tenants not being able to pay rent.
1:24.3	The most important thing is to stay in touch with your landlord.
1:29.6	Whether your landlord is an individual which a lot of rental properties are single family
1:35.7	homes, duplexes, quadplexes that are owned by an individual, a regular person, not
1:43.6	some big faceless corporation.
1:47.3	And they're hurting too when you can't pay rent.
1:51.6	Stay in touch with your landlord and let him or her know if it is a small individual
1:58.5	own property.
