Summary

The Saga of the Volsungs continues, with a princess held captive by the man who killed her father, and her brother roaming the forest waging a covert guerrilla war...or just robbing people for the fun of it? There are berserker werewolves, magic swords, and a battle of really stupid insults between kings. Also, you'll see if a legendary Norse mustache is an effective filter for poisons.
The creature of the week is the fossegrim, a nice guy who loves mutton and teaching people how to play the fiddle.

This week on the Myths and Legends podcast, you'll get more tips on how to raise a legendary Nordic child,

0:05.9

which includes, but is not limited to, turning him into a werewolf. Also, we'll see the effectiveness

of filtering toxins from ale with your mustache, and learn that there's no such thing as too much revenge.

For the creature of the week, it's a super-present waterfall deweller who will teach you how to play the

My wife and I moved recently, so this is now coming to you from the new World Headquarters of the

0:45.9

Myths and Legends podcast in upstate New York. With all the preparations, I didn't have time for

0:51.4

an episode last week. We're still getting settled, and moving isn't conducive to writing and

0:55.6

recording podcasts, so the episodes might not be super consistent for the next couple of weeks,

1:00.8

but they're coming. Thanks for sticking with me. Also, a huge thanks to DeBoy 89 for the first

1:06.7

review on iTunes. That's his name on there, I have no idea who he is really. That's the only one I

1:11.8

can see at least. I know Apple banks a number of reviews before publishing them, so thank you if

1:16.9

you've reviewed it and I just can't see it. If you want a right one, I'll totally mention your name

1:21.2

on the show, so thanks again to anyone who's reviewed it so far. Previously on the podcast, we followed

1:27.9

an elfated Norse family as they rose to power. The patriarch, King Boulson, was betrayed by a

1:34.5

son-in-law, King Sigir on a visit, and all but one son died. Sigmund, the son who lived,

1:41.6

made his way off into the forest and plied a revenge on King Sigir. Queen Signe, Boulson's daughter,

1:48.4

conspired with her brother, and after a few failed attempts, realized that Sigmund needed a true

1:53.8

Boulson child to help avenge their father. She deceived him into thinking she was someone else

1:59.5

and became pregnant with her son. She gave birth to Sin Fjolty, and I have no idea if I'm pronouncing

2:05.2

that correctly, who grew up strong and tall despite that really being genetically unlikely.
