| 0:00.0 | Hello, my name is Justin the Clue, and I'm here today with Will Sloan. |
| 0:11.8 | And you're listening to the Important Cinema Club. And today, swoosh, wham, pal, we're talking about Edgar Wright. |
| 0:18.0 | So first of all, I will always have some love in my heart for Edgar Wright for |
| 0:23.1 | when he was filming Scott Pilgrim versus the world in Toronto. |
| 0:26.7 | He had a series at the Bloor Cinema called The Right Stuff, where he would play, you know, |
| 0:31.5 | his favorite movies. |
| 0:32.7 | He would do that every week, basically, for two months. |
| 0:35.2 | And that was the golden age of Toronto. |
| 1:29.6 | That was back before this city turned into a freaking shithole. And during that time, I was friends with the manager of the Bloor Cinema. So little trailers that I made played before all of the right stuff movies that he did. Well, almost, I think. Wow. And you know, he would come out and he would do intros. We're going to watch Buzzbee Berkeley's dames. Oh, what a great screening that was, right? Nobody, nobody there had seen Busby Berkeley's James. Absolutely not. We all had a great time. We're like police story. He also showed his own movies. I think he started it with that. I mean, it was great too because after a couple weeks, you know, the audience thins out a little bit when he's showing stuff that's a little bit more obscure. And so it kind of felt like this almost secret thing for a little while, like, oh, this very famous filmmaker. Yeah, it was really big at the beginning. And then as it kept going, like, not as full. | 1:30.9 | about us special. But you got to experience like the synophilia of this guy who was in our town making a |
| 1:29.2 | movie about our town. About us. If you were, if you were Scott Pilgrim at the time like I was. |
| 1:35.2 | I mean, and perhaps you were too. Literally at that time, was I dating a multi-colored haired woman |
| 1:41.1 | who is in the background of Scott Pilgrim along with every single one of my |
| 1:45.9 | friends except for me and I'm not bitter about it at all. Yes. I mean, again, I've said this before. |
| 1:51.5 | I'll say it again. Let's say you were 21 years old with that movie came out. Let's say that for |
| 1:56.4 | the previous few years, everybody had compared you to Michael Sarah because you looked like him, |
| 2:01.6 | you talked like him. |
| 2:02.9 | He was very famous at the time. |
| 2:04.3 | You had the exact same level of masculinity as him. |
| 2:06.9 | And then let's say you were hanging out in all the exact neighborhoods that he was in that |
| 2:11.8 | movie. |
| 2:12.1 | I was literally always around that pizza pizza where he eats because that's where the |
