Hey everyone, I'm Ben Kumu Radio, how an earth are you doing? So motivation, what is it?

This is something that comes up an awful lot in the health and fitness industry. People say how do I get motivated to do

X, how do I stay motivated, how can I be consistent, and it's something we have talked a lot about

on the podcast before, but I wanted to get a little bit

intimate with it today and I wanted to add a little bit of context because I don't

know I suppose I've been thinking about it It's come up a lot in sort of conversations and I woke up this week feeling a little bit unmotivated and you know I don't really know how to describe it you know sometimes as days you wake up and you just feel a bit mere

you just can't describe it's just sort of there and what I did is I didn't start my day the usual way.

I came downstairs, I put on a pot of coffee,

and I stretched on the floor while listening to a famous Arnold Schwarzenegger speech.

It's one of his famous ever and it talks about basically how to succeed in life.

It was like, you know, work hard, have focus, know what you want, all that kind of stuff.

I absolutely love it. I think it's like a 12 minute speech, it's incredible.

And the reason why I did this alongside stretching is stretching obviously improves blood flow,

just gets you moving, it's going to feel better about yourself.

Hopefully it takes away some aches and pains.

And that combination of just like switching off letting someone else take control

and sort of program my thoughts and make me think all while moving and increasing my

blood flow really did make me feel good.

And why, the reason why I want to bring this up is quite often people see this as like a sign of weakness. It's like motivation should just be there and

the reality is it's not always there and we need to use tools and techniques to kind of give us a little bit of a jolt, give us a little

bit of a nudge. And one thing that kind of maybe think even more about this today is this afternoon my motivation just kind of left me
