It's not a man's need and a wife's duty.

And that was a huge one that I had to let go of.

It's impossible for people who have never experienced gender dysphoria

to even come close to understanding the crippling effect that it can have on somebody's life.

You know, we don't see the word role in scripture.

The word comes from the theater.

It's something that we play.

It's a part that we act, right?

And is my womanhood something that I act, or is it something that I am?

Part of a really great marriage and a great sex life

is learning that sometimes we're gonna nurture the other person.

And it may not be something that even comes natural to us,

but we realize that it's important for them.

When it comes to who is going to help me fix my fence, who's going to help me fix a flat tire,

who's going to pick me up at the airport, you know, Jesus has not yet done any of those things

for me. And so that is just something I've had to reconcile that, you know, life alone is practically

on this earth, life alone.

We don't know how to go back to our scriptures and actually show why marriage is male-female,

or really to show why marriage is faithful.

The church hasn't told the story of God and sex.

We've only recited the rules.
