burning man last year but I don't expect you to remember that I just wanted to give you a note of appreciation and tell you that I've been thinking so much about the scientific themes that have come up in your podcast you know the big picture stuff and I just got hired to work with the Santa Fe Institute and we're like in it on exploring the origins of life and

the nature of humans relationship to technology and every single day that I'm in there as this rogue who can't believe that I'm working inside a legitimate scientific institution like this I think of myself in light of that episode that you recorded about fecal transplants and you know Philip K Dick statement that the divine symbols emerge in the trash stratum and wondering if I'm not

in some sense a fecal transplant for science a restoration of a little humility and and earthiness and you know a little black Madonna rearing its head I guess in there and you're on my mind a lot for that so thanks for all you do and keep it up don't lose hope either

I know that it's easy to get run over thinking about the decline of civilization but come on do we really want the kind of civilization that is declining I think we can do better and you know we can do better and I applaud you and salute you for your work in helping us figure the next stage

Hey Chris this is Kate from Jersey City New Jersey and I'm actually currently in Hoboken though walking along the waterfront

facing Manhattan so I got a pretty incredible view in front of me and I'm coming from teaching a yoga private I'm a yoga teacher

and then it's a night and tomorrow I'm casting a show that I'm producing and acting in some original work in the downtown New York theater scene so I'm quite lucky I just wanted to say thank you

podcast have changed my life and yours in particular I listen to almost every day and I very much appreciate the opportunity

to build a global community of like-minded people it's super comforting especially in a city that can make you feel alone a lot

as well as for the opportunity to learn and constantly be a student of life
