Welcome to the Beginners Garden podcast. I'm Jill McShehehehe with Journey Withjil.net, and my goal is to give beginning gardeners the tools they need to grow a rewarding, productive garden. If there is one plant I get asked about growing more than any other, it is blueberries.

I know in my garden, my very first year, I made sure to make room for blueberries before I had even planted one single vegetable.

We love blueberries as a family and they're more expensive when I buy them in the grocery store

and I wanted to grow blueberries organically as much as possible.

Fortunately, I didn't have any trouble.

My soil was naturally perfect for growing blueberries, so by the third year we started

having bumper crops. But I know that not everyone's experience is that way, and sometimes

growing blueberries can be a little frustrating, especially if you don't

have the basics or if you don't have the proper soil to begin with. Plus, from what I've been hearing

from many of you, you are interested in growing blueberries in containers. And that's something I would

love to share more with you about to help you grow blueberries,

but because I don't grow them in containers, I really didn't have a whole lot of knowledge to

pull from. So for all of these reasons, whether you want to grow blueberries for the very first

time in the ground or if you want to grow in containers, this episode is going to be

chock full of information that's going to help you grow blueberries.
