Summary

More than two months after the mass shooting of 19 children and 2 teachers inside Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, the Austin American Statesman and KVUE news outlets decided to release shocking security video footage from within the school during the shooting. Families of the victims had been begging to see the video privately themselves in order to understand what really happened during those crucial first minutes and beyond. Now the footage is out for the world to see and learn from the many mistakes made by law enforcement that day. Jim and Laura analyse the tape and walk us through what should have happened to save lives.

1:24.0	You retired FBI profile of former New York City prosecutor and writer producer of CVS is criminal lines and with me today is Laura Richards criminal behavior analyst, former New Scotland yard and host of the podcast crime analyst.
1:38.0	I'm Lisa Zimbabwe. I'm the casting director for CBS is criminal minds. We're jumping on to talk about nearly two months after 19 students and two teachers were massacred at Rob Elementary School in Newvaldy, Texas.
1:51.0	There's now been leaked security footage of actually what went on inside the halls of the school and I I so wanted to get Jim and Laura's take on what they see when they look at this footage.
2:05.0	Well Lisa it's it's horrible. It's horrible to see how unprofessional this police officer response was.
2:20.0	You have a bunch of officers who appear to be charging the door where the shooter is in the classroom and they go down the hall and then moments later they literally turn and run away.
2:42.0	One officer touches his ear. I understand that two officers had been slightly injured by grazing wounds and they all literally turned and ran away.
2:56.0	This is the exact opposite of what they were trained to do. This is exactly the worst thing to do. They're violating their training exactly in the in the most dangerous way. The thing that we learned in the Columbine shooting and ever since then all law enforcement training geared at school shooters has been the same and that is we need to advance on a shooter and literally neutralize the threat immediately.
3:25.0	Otherwise more children will die and no one no one in this situation goes into save the children minutes later ballistic shields are are are leaning up against a wall for what for purpose.
3:43.0	Nobody's using them to to break into the classroom. That's what they should be doing. There should be a coordinated attack from the hallway and from the windows. There should be distractions flashbangs multiple officers should be in stick formation and they should be entering that classroom and they should be taking out that threat.
4:05.0	During this entire time it's not just the fact that he could still shoot children that are still alive. But the fact that children have been shot and teachers and they're in there bleeding out and dying during this entire time. This is outrageous at the very least.
4:24.0	This is complete and utter incompetence and what it looks like though is pure cowardice. Somebody made the decision and each individual officer made the decision not to go in.
