Well, Patrick, I'm just back from Ukraine. Great trip with James, Baldy and Julia.

Sadly, you couldn't make it.

But we've taken a little bit of a pause in the Special Forces series to answer questions.

We've had many coming in.

The first one is from Petter, and this is about a little-known Special Forces operation in Norway.

As a Norwegian, he writes, the discussion of Special Forces operations during World War II naturally brings the Ryukhan operation to mine.

That, of course, is the most famous one of all, Patrick. I wrote about the precursor to the Ryokin operation in my Sky Warriors book, Operation Freshman, which was an attempt to knock out the heavy water that the Germans were hoping to use to develop nuclear weapons.

Now, the job was eventually done, as Petter points out, by the Norwegians themselves, S-O-E, one of the most wonderful operations of the Second World War.
