Now, let's just hit the ground running and jump right into John Chapter 11, which is going to

kind of be the launch pad for our conversation for today.

Now, John 11 describes and recounts a very, very famous incident that happened

in the life of Jesus. And it's one that you're probably already familiar with, even if you

don't recognize the reference right off the top of your head. And that is going to be the death

of Lazarus. Now, I'm not going to go verse by verse through this passage because that would be a really

worthy and helpful exercise and a wonderful thing to do in a great use of time.

However, there's just one thing in particular that I'm hoping that we can see from this passage.

So I'm just going to skim across the surface here to get to that point.

So in John 11, we find out that Lazarus is ill.

He's very sick.

Lazarus is Mary and Martha's brother.

They live in Bethany. And so Jesus hears that he is sick. Jesus waits two more days and then

departs and goes to where Lazarus is. And by the time Jesus gets there, Lazarus is, of course,

already dead. And it says that he had been in the tomb for four days at this point.

And to be honest, I'm having to fight the urge of just going through this passage slowly

and talking about a whole lot and not missing any of the details, but I just, I'll leave
