Today we take a look at Israel's first two kings and try to see what the text is showing

us in these two characters.

And why are the fact we're doing every other week we should probably go back and review

a little bit?

We should.

And just remind ourselves of what we've been.

I don't even remember where we've been.

It's been that good of a summer.

So we are, let's see, we walked all through Torah in session one.

Talked about this partner that God is created in Genesis.

We had a preface and God tried to reorient the way we saw the world.

It's a good world, it's a good creation.

He's for it.

He's inviting us to trust, but we have such a hard time trusting that he's for us and

not living in fear.

But then we meet the family of God and what we called the introduction.

Genesis 12 through 50, the whole rest of the book and this family showed us through lots

of dysfunction and lots of struggle.

They showed us what it means to trust the story.

Sometimes not trusting the story, but they always seemed managed to lean back in.
