This is the Bamo podcast with Marty Solomon. I'm his co-host, Brent Billings. Today we're

zooming in on the mini narrative of Ruth. One story where the mission of God is realized

in the way Israel treats the alien, the orphan, and the widow.

Yeah, another podcast where we don't have a presentation because we're just going to walk

through the whole story. It's only four chapters long. The figure we had, we didn't spend

much time in judges like text wise. Let's just read the whole thing in Ruth. So that's what we're

going to be doing. So if you want a presentation, grab your biblioteca. That's right, word. Sure.

I believe that's the word for library. All right. Well, grab your Bible and put that in your library

of biblical scrolls. There you go. And find the scroll of Ruth. Ruth. As we say in the Hebrew.

And we'll read through the story there. This is a big story. This is considered, I mean,

obviously from a Jewish perspective, one of the greatest love stories of all time. So this is a big

big story. It's kind of a mixture of poetry and romance with very serious,

missional implications. And it's kind of got a little bit of everything, a little bit of everything

for everybody. So I'm going to pick up. I'm going to read chapter one. We're just going to alternate

here. You get a little bit of both of us today, a little bit of Brent, a little bit of Marty.

Here we go. Chapter one. In the days when the judges ruled, all right. So this is the same time

period as we just got done doing the judges podcast, the redemption cycle conversation. And those same

days, in the days when the judges ruled during that time period, all the sin, all the sin cycle.

Oh, man, they're sin. Sin coming out our ears. Juice, right? It's big lump of failure.

So all the book of judges is if I let Google image search tell me anything, sin is just oozing out

of these relates right onto a bed of God's patience. Luckily, we have the book of Ruth because this

book is going to redeem. It's going to redeem a little bit of stuff here. So let's get into it.
