1:06.9 | that kind of fits in with today's topic? So I got in undergrad, I exercised science degree, |
1:13.4 | then went to medical school. That's pretty general for everybody. And then you specialized. |
1:18.4 | I decided to do family medicine, which is like the broadest. So I did family medicine, |
1:22.7 | then specialized in further into obesity medicine and then added in lipids as well, lipidology. So the difference with |
1:30.7 | me was a very strong background in sports, nutrition, and exercise, and kind of the idea of |
1:36.8 | using lifestyle as medicine as much as possible. But I have a very keen interest in pharmacology, |
1:42.8 | too. But basically, there's no such thing as a cardiometabolic medicine specialist. |
1:47.1 | They're talking about making this type of specialist, which would be a combination of endocrinology and cardiology. |
1:53.3 | And leaving out, like in the endocrine part, like thyroid cancer and other pituitary type of disorders, |

2:10.1 | And then in cardiology, you would leave out more of the electrophysiology and more go to cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment without being an intervention type of thing. |
