Summary

In this episode of The Art of Preaching, I’m diving into something every communicator faces but few talk about—what if I bomb? What happens when the mic doesn’t work, the slides are wrong, the room is dead silent, or worse—when you just totally miss it? I’ve had those moments (more than once!), and I’m sharing one of my most humiliating fails and what God taught me through it. We’ll talk about redefining success, the invisible fruit of obedience, and why bombing isn’t the end—it’s part of your formation. I’ll also walk you through a simple activation to turn your fears into faith statements, because failure doesn’t get the final say—God does.Learn more and connect with Havilah: + Havilah's Site: http://havilahcunnington.com + Truth to Table: http://truthtotable.com + Truth Academy: https://thetruthacademy.com/ + Havilah's Podcast: https://pod.link/1021082134

has had a sermon that has flocked. I mean, flocked. And that moment wasn't quiet. It was loud. It was

0:49.4

awkward. It was that moment that you know, everybody saw it. And if I was truly honest with you I have one of

0:58.1

these at least once a year like about once a year I get up to speak or communicate and it will just

1:05.8

not won't be what I wanted to be it doesn't it doesn't. It flops. And some of it's in my control,

1:12.4

others if it's not, sometimes it's a sound issue or a crying baby or, you know, maybe the slides

aren't on what I'm trying to communicate, whatever it might be. And so early on, I remember

1:23.8

so many times I would get up to do something and all of a sudden it wouldn't work. My mic wouldn't work or this thing didn't happen or I misquoted a scripture and I would shame spiral. I would go home and I would quit the ministry and quit preaching and like I'm never going to do this again. That was humiliating. But you know, you get back on the horse and you try it again and you're going to do it again.

1:44.8

And what I've found is it's just not uncommon. In fact, I was thinking about myself, gosh, it was like two years ago.

1:53.2

I was invited to speak at this really significant event. It was large, thousands of people.

1:59.5

And I was so excited. I mean, I had been prepping for this

2:02.5

event for months and not prepping like going through my content, but really wanting it to be
