Summary

What if the real work of leadership wasn’t about climbing higher, but going deeper into the soul, the body, and the sacred responsibility of showing up fully alive? In this soul-stirring conversation on The Greatness Machine, Darius sits down with Nathanael Chawkin for a deep dive into the sacred masculine, conscious leadership, and the power of integration. From personal initiations through plant medicine to the spiritual responsibility of leading in the modern world, this episode explores what it means to live a wholehearted, embodied life. Nathanael shares insights from his work guiding men through transformational rites of passage, and challenges the performative narratives of power and success. They also reflect on the rise of conscious capitalism, the illusion of enlightenment, and the true crucibles of growth—like marriage, fatherhood, and leadership itself.  In this episode, Darius and Nathanael will discuss: (00:00) Introduction and Background (02:57) The Journey of Fatherhood (05:30) Exploring Masculinity and Leadership (08:34) The Role of Plant Medicine in Personal Growth (11:29) Integration and Spiritual Development (14:11) Personal Experiences with Plant Medicine (24:57) Exploring Plant Medicines and Spiritual Experiences (30:13) The Shift from Materialism to Conscious Leadership (36:56) Conscious Capitalism and the Role of Guardianship (42:46) Integrating Spirituality and Material Life (50:23) The Pathways of Development in Leadership Nathanael Chawkin is a modern mystic, master coach, and martial arts instructor with over 15 years of experience guiding executives and leaders through transformational growth. He is the founder of Guardian Training, a men’s work methodology that blends MMA, conflict resolution, and depth psychology to awaken the sacred masculine. In 2021, he launched Awakening Leadership, a plant medicine journey for conscious leaders, and in 2025, co-founded Temple of The Living Truth with his life partner Elizabeth—a priestess of the sacred feminine. Together, they are building a decentralized spiritual community rooted in direct mystical experience. Featured in Entrepreneur and The Financial Times, Nathanael brings a uniquely embodied and integrative lens to leadership, spirituality, and human potential. Love gang. Welcome to The Greatness Machine. I'm your host Darius from Shazday. I'm so pumped to have you here with me. Now listen, the greatness machine were about two things. Number one, people were living their passions. And number two, those who are creating greatness in the world and doing both of these things despite the odds against them. Each episode, we're going to feature interviews with game changers, business leaders, telling us their origin stories. What made them tick? What got them to where they are now? Why? So it can help you step into your

greatness within your life, your business, and your career. Occasionally, you might hear a few

0:29.2

solo episodes from myself, as I say, as I leverage my 20 years of entrepreneurship as a CEO

0:34.2

and founder to help you grow and level up in your journey to scale your life and your business. So come be a fly on the wall, enjoy the conversation, and I'm stoked to have you here with me. Guys, welcome to this episode of The Greatness for Shamriel Starius Marhazzi. And boy, do we have a special guest. Nathaniel Chalkin is in the house. What's up, Nathaniel? Wonderful to be with you, my friend, as always.

0:56.6

Oh, man.

0:58.0

So, man, what are you like?

0:59.1

Three time?

1:00.0

This is number three.

1:01.7

Yeah.

1:02.5

All right.

1:03.1

Well, the show's five years old.

1:05.1

So we usually link up every 18 months or so on the show.

1:09.5

Exactly right.

1:10.3

That feels about right. Yeah, three years, five years old next month. Amazing. Congratulations. Big growth. Yeah, thank you. It feels weird. It doesn't feel like it's been five years. This has been like a project. Like normally I have these projects where I'm like, X has to happen by Y date or else it's a failure

1:28.7

and there's these KPI's and five year plan and all this. And for the show, I kind of did that

1:34.1

initially. And then I realized like I didn't know how to grow the show. So I was like, I was like,

1:41.4

this isn't really like making sense how I'm the investment for the growth. I'm like, I actually just like doing the show, which is kind of rare for me to just do something for the sake of doing it because I like it. Normally, that sounds like a hobby. And as an entrepreneur, I didn't really have any. And now I'm like, this is a thing that I just love to do. So let's do it. Yeah. Well, that's the thing about it growing us and it showing us where it wants to take us sometimes. And everyone has a plan until we get punched in the mouth. And then we learn to grow and adapt and see what it really is. And ain't that the entrepreneur's journey? I know, man. It's incredible. So for the listeners who are not familiar, Nathaniel, number one is we'll put, we're going to put in the show notes previous episodes because the fact that we have 52 minutes is kind of laughable with me and Nathaniel. We can go like three hours. But we'll put our past episodes. I think at least one of them was a live stream, so I don't know if that made it into a show.

2:35.0

But for sure, the last episode was a show we did. Yeah, there's two of them out there in the social media. Yeah, so we'll get both of those in the show notes. I highly recommend you to go down the rabbit hole and listen to the previous show. so I'm not going to go too, we're not going to go too deep on Nathaniel's background or his,

2:52.5

you know, like we normally would in a show just because that's been done in the previous shows.

2:55.9

But I'll give my background when Nathaniel.

2:57.8

I met him at, oh, God, Eselon, 2019, six years ago, at a future of masculinity conference

3:07.0

that he and another gentleman led that I was there
