Hello everyone. Welcome to Latter Day Struggles. This is your host, Valerie. I am so excited to have Ginger and Steve Hits here with me for episode number three of a four-part series where we are talking about this beautiful book that they wrote and edited together called Igniting the Holy Flame, building communities of love from the ashes of negative religious

culture. And what we have been talking about thus far in the two episodes that precede this one

is, first of all, the potential that spiritual communities have to be a place of community,

of flexibility, of love, compassion, light, truth, and how sometimes a couple of other things

can sort of find their ways in and stifle our ability to grow into who we are here to become

as children of God. We spent last episode talking about two major impediments to the cultivation of our relationship

with self, God, and others. And these two factors are what Steve in the book calls

fabricated fellowship and harmful religiosity. And we went really deeply into those into our last

episodes. So if you

haven't listened to that one yet, I would definitely invite you to jump into that last episode,

because it is really good. And I dare say you will resonate with quite a bit of what we talked
