I'm Ben Sawyer, and this is the road to now.

Today on the show, live recording Bob and I did going down the interstate.

If you're listening on Monday, this was just yesterday afternoon, we went into the hermitage

while Bob was in town.

He was here to play a live show with Ava Patton collaboration.

I went to that show.

If you see they're coming to your town, go.

It was such a great show.

But he had a day off.

And so we caught up.

We went out of the hermitage.

And on the way home,

I said, Bob, let's just record an episode in the truck, you know, having not really prepared to do that.

So what you're about to hear, I think, is a really good conversation about Jackson, about, of course,

John Quincy Adams, about Cuba, you know, current events and kind of putting that into a historical context. And just honestly, a delightful conversation I have with Bob. And since

what we talk about is history, it's all over the place, but it is all a lot of digging into

history. So right now we're going to find out how much you love us because admittedly, this audio was a bit of a struggle.

So I hope you guys enjoy this conversation. And you guys are with us and understanding that we thought this would be a great idea. And it is, but poorly executed perhaps.
