Hey, hey, hey, short rounds of Benson Burners. My name is Doug, and this is Doug

loves minis. The show that is bummed about John Stewart quitting the Daily Show, just as the

GOP 2016 presidential debates are starting and bummed about him quitting in general.

Coming to you from a hotel room on Monday, August 3rd, 2015,

yesterday was the final day of the 11th Traverse City Film Festival, my third time attending,

and definitely not the last. Thank you to everyone in charge and all of the volunteers,

and the people of Traverse City for making it

such a pleasant experience and a chance for me to see a lot of great films. A late-night

interruption of speed the night before and a freak storm on day six determined that I'd only

see one film yesterday, but it was a gooden.

Number 156 in the DLM Challenge,

Grandma, written and directed by Paul White's and starring Lily Tomlin,

is a small but mighty film, the story of a lesbian granny and her teenage granddaughter,

trying to find the money for the young woman to get an abortion.

Sounds heavy, but it's actually quite funny and moving, and a terrific showcase for Tomlin,

an actress who's lately been relegated to playing secretaries on television.

If the company behind this movie doesn't make a big push for her in awards season, they are dumb.

It's just long enough to qualify as a movie in my book.

Mike Tweet's stuff saw Selling God, less a documentary, more of a cynical viewpoint. Okay? I don't know what that is.
