Today on the show, we have special guest, Jessie Raleigh, aka Edavie.

Jessie is a painter and designer and has an incredible connection with her audience through social media.

I wanted to have Jessie on the show because here's a person, she's an American artist, living and working in France.

And her creative journey maps onto the hero's journey so perfectly.

And as long time listeners know, I'm obsessed.

I'm one of those nerdy Joseph Campbell kind of people because discovering the hero's journey was the discovery of the growth mindset in my creative practice.

It is what taught me to not run from obstacles but see them as the opportunity for an actual creative solution.

If there's no obstacle, the creativity's been had, right?

We've been talking a lot about that on this show this year.

And Jessie's path illustrates that in such a phenomenal way.

There's such a clear call to adventure, mentor, tests, allies,

seizing of this creative pencil sort, it's all there.

And although I had heard Jessie tell her story and other capacities in different places online, in the plot sense.

This happened, that happened, that happened.

There were a lot of gaps underneath that I wanted to dive deeper into and get a sense of the emotional side and also the kind of creative strategy and philosophy side.

And so we dive into a bunch of pieces.

I think there's a lot of big kind of takeaways and breakthroughs that we find along the way.
