colleagues. Today we get to speak to retired agent Stacey Bradley Perkins, who served in the FBI

for 30 years. In this episode, she reviews one of the first international innocent images online predator cases.

She investigated Dmitry Braun, who, using the code name Nanny 69, operated from Virginia Beach,

an international internet site called the Orchid Club that offered 15,000

images of graphic child pornography. The case resulted in the arrest of 28 people for crimes

against children. The Innocent Images National Initiative targets those involved in the production and distribution

of child pornography, also referred to as child sexual images. Stacey worked and managed the

Internet Images National Initiative for over two-thirds of her FBI career. She briefed President George W. Bush

about the case that we're going to review and the need for increased funding to target online

predators. Stacey began her Bureau career as a member of the Newark Division's Special Surveillance Group, SSG,

where she conducted surveillance on subjects of foreign counterintelligence and counterterrorism

investigations. Upon receiving an appointment as a special agent, her next field assignment

was to the Norfolk Division, where she worked violent crime and

began working crimes against children cases. When she received a transfer to the Oklahoma City

field office, she also investigated cases involving the exploitation of women and human trafficking.

Based on her experience, Stacey received a specialty transfer to the

Baltimore Division, where she was tasked with creating the Innocent Images National Initiative Task Force.

The program expanded to 28 additional FBI-sponsored task forces throughout the U.S. To encourage participation at an

international level, Stacey planned and organized a six-month tour of 15 different countries

to meet with law enforcement representatives. Her campaign resulted in thousands of new cases around the world.
