with former colleagues. Today, we get to speak to retired agent Robert Domeco, who served in the

FBI for 27 years. In this episode, Rob reviews his involvement as a member of the FBI's elite hostage rescue team, H.R.T.

And a Navy SEAL's mission to rescue four Americans taken hostage by Somali pirates on their sailing vessel, The Quest.

And after the mission's deadly outcome, Rob's capture of the

Pirates' Shore-based negotiator. Rob DeMico's first assignment was to the Miami Division,

where he apprehended violent felons as a member of a multi-agency violent crime fugitive task force. Rob then transitioned into deep undercover work

against U.S. and Italian-based organized crime families. His 10 years in the United States Marine Corps

working reconnaissance missions led to Rob's selection to H.R.T, where he served as a sniper.

During Rob's time on HRT, he negotiated hostage releases and exchanges,

while operating under the highest pressures against pirates, warlords, and leaders of terrorist networks.

Rob was named the first FBI H.R.T. Tactical liaison to the Joint Operations Command,

National Mission Force Units, and the United States Marine Corps, where he oversaw all FBI personnel

embedded in Counterterrorism Task Forces around the globe and was frequently deployed

on no-notice overseas contingency operations. He ended his time on H.R.T. as the deputy

operations chief based in Quantico, Virginia. Before and after this assignment, Rob was the

assistant legal attaché, A-Lat, in Bagram, Virginia. Before and after this assignment, Rob was the assistant legal attache,

Alat, in Bagram, Afghanistan, and the legal attach, Legat, in Kabul, Afghanistan. After returning to

the Bureau's domestic efforts, he led the counter-dron unit, and for several years was tasked with protecting national events,

such as the Super Bowl and the World Series, before retiring from the FBI. Currently, Rob is
