Summary

In this episode I talk to the queen of cleansing, Elissa Goodman, about healing from hodgkins lymphoma at 32 years old and the devastating loss of her husband from non-hodgkins lymphoma not long after. We discuss the importance of mindset in healing, dealing with anxiety and grief, trapped trauma and the use of psilocybin to expand spirituality and confront tragedies.

On a lighter note, we also talk about all the health things you’re dying to know: how to deal with gut issues like SIBO, juicing do's and don'ts, specific supplements that Elissa loves, and how to radiate from within!

Welcome to the Blond Files Podcast. I am your host Aria Lorry and I need to preface this

0:09.8

intro by telling you guys that I am sick again. So I feel like I'm I sound really raspy and

0:17.4

easily. Um sometimes I like it in this case I don't. So I just want to give you that heads up. I don't know why I felt like it was necessary to do.

I hope everyone else is doing really well. I could not be more excited about today's episode. My guest is

0:36.2

Alyssa Goodman. She is a holistic nutritionist and lifestyle cleanse expert whose mission is to educate and encourage healthy, mindful living, helping others embrace the concept that we are a product of what we eat and how we treat ourselves.

0:52.0

So Alyssa has a really fascinating story. She was

0:57.2

diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma at 32 years old and she kind of bypassed the traditional cancer treatment to

1:06.3

heal herself. She did have some more traditional Western but she really took her

1:11.6

health into her own hands. So she healed from that and then devastatingly her

1:18.4

husband was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma not too long after and he passed away.

1:26.2

So we delve into healing both from cancer but also from loss.

1:31.8

We talk a lot about the importance of mindset and healing. We talk about

1:36.7

dealing with anxiety and grief and trapped trauma and she opens up about her use of silicibin, magic mushrooms, to expand on spirituality and to confront tragedies and to confront tragedies and old traumas and come to a sort of

1:55.8

resolution and this is something that I'm super fascinated by I've read a lot

2:01.3

about it and I think I'm particularly fascinated by it because it's

2:05.6

something that is not an option for me. I'm sober, it's just not in the cards for me to

2:11.6

take drugs or hallucinogens or whatever and have this spiritual experience.

2:17.7

So I really was interested to talk to her about it because she's the first person I think that I've ever

2:24.1

talked to who's done it or the first person who's done it who I've talked to it about.

2:31.3

I'm sure I know people who have done it who we just don't discuss it.

2:34.8

Anyway, I digress. On a lighter note, we also talk about all the health things you are

2:41.0

dying to know, like how to deal with gut issues we talk about
