Welcome to the podcast. My name is Douglas Wilson. This is episode 358. 358. So in our opening segment here, I want to talk a little bit about Twitter discourse. A lot of people are on Twitter. It was a heavily censored and curated place until Elon took it over. He sort of

brought free speech back into the equation where people can pop off however they feel, for the

most part. And if you log on to Twitter and you are fortunate enough to be in the middle of one of the

cafeteria food fights that regularly break out there, you might wonder, you might say,

is freedom of speech all that hot?

Look at, look at this.

This place looks like the bottom of the, looks like the cement floor at the monkey house at the zoo.

And you'd be right.

At the same time, the fact that political speech is no longer being censored

means that a lot of people are getting a good portion of their news from Twitter. So it's not

that you read in-depth news stories on Twitter, but if a story breaks, the chances are pretty good.

I'd say three quarters of the time.

If a story breaks, I find out about it on Twitter.

I follow, I try to be careful and judicious on the people I follow.

And generally speaking, somebody's going to say something if there's a big,

if there's a big story.

And then swirling around our ankles would be all the nasty debate and name calling

and all of that.

So what is the, what are we to make of this? There are, I think the main thing that I would

say is the Bible tells us in the book of Proverbs that folly has certain characteristics and that

wisdom has certain characteristics.

And it is easy to look at some dumb and stupid argument that broke out on Twitter,
