I'm your host, Heather Ashley, and today's case is out of Gas City, Indiana.

Music From the outside looking in, you might think that 10-year-old Skylie Carmack was your average girl.

According to S&W. Cares, she loved painting, reading, riding her bike, and monster high.

But Skylie wasn't your average kid.

Growing up, her home was less than stable.

She was with her mom for a hot minute before it looks like she kind of bounced around from

place to place.

It's a little hard to narrow down just how many people Skyley was in the care of, but it

doesn't look like it was ever foster care,

more so the people involved in her mom and dad's lives. Eventually, things seemed to calm down for her

when her dad, Kevin, settled down with a woman named Holly. Holly spoke to Wayne 15 and said that

she essentially raised Skylie for most of her life, and throughout the process was able to maintain a

pretty decent co-parenting relationship with Skylie's biological mom. Holly and Skyley's dad stayed
