Hey, everyone, and welcome back to Big Mad True Crime, where we get Big Mad over True Crime.

I'm your host, Heather Ashley, and today you'll be hearing part two of the Chris Trap case.

Small talk sucks, so let's dive in.

In 1996, 18-year-old Angie Dodge was found raped and stabbed to death inside of her apartment.

Detectives quickly felt pressure to solve the case, but instead of following the evidence, they focused on the wrong people.

One of those people was Chris Tapp. Chris was just 20 years old when

police brought him in for questioning, and over the course of three weeks, he was interrogated

nine times, given seven polygraph tests, lied to by detectives, threatened, and fed details

about the crime. Eventually, exhausted and terrified, Chris began repeating

the stories investigators suggested to him. After hours of pressure, threats, and lies,

detectives did get what they wanted, which was a confession. But there was a problem, a pretty big one.

The DNA from the crime scene did not match Chris.
