Part of the problem was the selection in our small town.

We had a dairy queen that offered the finest gourmet selection and everything else went downhill from there.

Other reason was practicality.

Why eat out when we have plenty of food right here at home?

So restaurant trips were maybe once a month, Sunday only events.
