All right, everybody, welcome back to the show. Great to be here, as always, on a brand new mindset and motivation Monday. But today I want to go beyond motivation. I want to share with you how to

flip the script on your own emotions for the days that you don't necessarily want to go after your dreams, go after your goals,

but instead you set up a backup plan for the days where you just don't have the energy,

you just don't have the willpower or the motivation. So here's what we're going to do.

We're going to set, instead of goals, we're going to set standards. This is a huge difference.

We've touched us in the past,

but I really want to go over this because most people set goals, but very few set standards.

What does that mean? It's a huge difference. It's the difference between someone that shows up

when they're motivated, when they're inspired, and someone who shows up every day because it's

who they are. It's a part of their

standards, their standards of living. This is just how they act. The discipline they use doesn't

have to be forced because it's ultimately who they are. So how does that come about? Well,

it's difficult because when you think about it, you have to say, okay, well, standards are really the same thing as motivation or discipline.

It's just getting things done even when you don't want to.

True, but it's a different wiring, meaning that goals are when you aspire to something.
