Summary

Hi Beauties,

Welcome back to another episode of Beauty Bytes with Dr. Kay: Secrets of a Plastic Surgeon. On this episode, I am honored to have featured guest, Jim Sheils, here to discuss how him and his wife, Jamie Sheils, are transforming families all around. This episode focuses on the philosophy behind how as parents, we really only have full 18 summers with our kids and we should all full fledge take advantage of that. These 18 summers are the roots to a long continuous healthy relationship with our kids into their adulthood. As successful entrepreneurs with four kids and their best seller on Amazon, "The Family Board Meeting", Jim and Jamie give excellent tips and examples of what they do with their family, from having scheduled date nights to handing out fun coupons for the kids to "cash in" whenever they prefer. If you're interested in learning about how to be more in tune with your family, then be sure to listen in on this episode!

summers with her. So tell me what's what's the philosophy of 18 summers?

Yeah, 18 summers was a was a simple math equation that a mentor taught me years ago. And he said,

1:38.8

look, you really have 18 summers that look like he was his kids were grown at this point and he said there's

1:46.4

still your kids and you still love them but it's different and what I've learned if I can impart

1:50.7

anything to you is you got to grab those first 18 summers and if you do of course they're

1:57.8

going to come back for more after they're 18 summers but if you don't do it right for those first 18 summers, it's a lot harder to forge the relationship.

2:05.1

It's a lot harder to deepen the path.

2:07.8

So he said, really know that the years are not all created equal.

2:11.8

And you've got to take hold of that time that you have so that as they are adults, they still want to come back for more.
