Hey everyone, and welcome back to Big Mad True Crime, where we get Big Mad over True Crime. I'm your host, Heather

Ashley, and today's case is

part two of the Megan Trussle story. 18-year-old C.U. Boulder freshman who was thriving in school, close to her family, and so excited about her future.

She loved her classes, she loved her friends, and aside from some issues with her roommate,

she was settling into college life exactly the way she had hoped. On the night of February 9th,

2025, Megan was last seen on campus at 9.52 p.m. walking alone.

After that, she simply vanished. When her family realized they hadn't heard from her in days,

they immediately reported her missing, but CU Boulder police dismissed their concerns and insisted that she was

probably just couch surfing. Officers then spent hours searching surveillance footage for a girl

with blue hair, not knowing that Megan currently had bright red hair because they never asked

for an updated photo. By the time police started taking her disappearance seriously,

Megan's phone had already pinged twice in Boulder Canyon,

once near Ebbinge Fine Park,

and then again at the 40-mile marker on Boulder Canyon Drive,

which is a dark, isolated stretch of roadway that she feared and would
