Summary

Are you, honestly, being honest with yourself?

With a diet, with change, with a training program, we have to be 100% raw and honest with ourselves and what we've done to get the outcome we've got, otherwise we bulls*** ourselves, and that never leads to positively moving forward, its just leads to frustration and anger.

Hey everyone, Vancouver Radio. Welcome to the Quick Sharp Short Monday show. So today I want to talk

0:06.5

about the realities of our body and our situation. Now as a coach I obviously talk to an awful lot of people about where they are and where they're going and maybe the situation that they're in right there and then and the reason I bring this up is because when we walked

0:24.2

move towards our goals we have to be totally honest with ourselves about what we're

0:28.3

staring in the face and what we've got to do to change what we're staring now. So there's a couple

0:35.2

of examples here that kind of spring to mind. Now it's the summer at the moment, it's kind of

0:40.2

of barbecue season, everyone's being really soc sociable there's a lot going on that

0:44.4

compose a big problem to someone trying to achieve their goals you know you go out

0:49.1

maybe twice a week friends are having barbecue, there's going to be

0:52.6

beer, there's going to be foods, there's maybe foods that you're not

0:55.3

really sure, like how calarific they are and all that kind of stuff and that can

0:59.4

derail a goal. Now when you see, and let's go through a extreme example, when you see a bodybuilder

1:07.0

prepping for a show, you see that they become quite restrictive and alienate a certain amount of their, you know, environment and it might be

1:15.8

that this individual turns up to a barbecue having already prepped their food and like, oh no, this is the

1:21.9

food they're going to eat and the reason why

1:24.0

someone would have to do this is because they have to guarantee their outcome.

1:28.0

Now when you're trying to work towards a goal you have to put in place a system that can guarantee your outcome.

1:34.4

And if you're sitting there at the end of the every week going,

1:37.4

oh, I didn't achieve my goal this week, oh, I still haven't lost weight,

1:40.8

I still haven't got this, the chances are you didn't control enough of the

1:44.6

variables to get to the result or get the result that you wanted. And that's the reality.

1:49.9

And what I don't want you to do is never be fully aware of the reality because when we're aware of the reality

1:57.6

we can accept that we maybe didn't do things that led to the outcome that we want. We cannot sugarcoat things.
