Hello, my name is Justin the Klu, and I'm joined today with Will Sloan.

And you're listening to The Important Cinema Club. And today, it's a sequel to an episode that we've done before, because we revisited the drive-in.

That's right. For the second year in a row, we've taken a road trip,

Justin and me. We've driven down to Pennsylvania in the United States, specifically to the Mahoning

Valley to visit Mecca, one of the most glorious places on Earth. I refer, of course, to the Mahoning

drive-in theater. They are a drive-in that has been operating for a number of years now,

like 99.9% all of the films that they show are on 35 millimeter. And I want to tell you something

about this theater. Like, every time I think about it, I think, how can this exist? It doesn't

seem possible that this exists. Not only does it show

35mm, but every weekend, they show a different selection of cults or exploitation movies.

You know, everything from John Waters to Luccio Fulci. And they also do popular stuff. Like,

they'll show Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and and, you know, that gets the crowd in because...

They did an Ernest marathon once, I think.

I wish I could have gone to that?

Did you imagine Ernest goes to jail on shimmering 35 millimeter film?

John R. Cherry the Thirds, striking compositions, his bold use of color.

Hundreds of feet high above us, the way that Ernest, no one ever thought would be experienced again.

And like, when this drive-in does screenings, you need to go to them because they may not happen again.

You know, maybe they'll be popular and it becomes a yearly thing.

But the one that we attended this weekend, we talked to the person who was in charge of finding the prince and he said,

listen, this is a tough one to put together. And, you know, this is probably the last time

it's going to happen. So a year ago when we went to the Mahoning Drive-in, we saw their annual
