| 0:00.0 | And Percy goes, they've got Cyclops in Brooklyn, which felt like a very New York question of, hey, they got Cyclops in Brooklyn? |
| 0:06.2 | What's they doing that, though? |
| 0:07.4 | What's the matter of Brooklyn? What's going. Thank you so much for tuning into another episode of The Newest Olympian. My name is Mike Schubert. I'm the titular newest Olympian. I'm a 30-year-old man who has |
| 0:38.0 | never read the Percy Jackson books before, but I'm reading them now for the very first time. I'm on a quest to determine if this is a book series that we've all been sleeping on, and I'm not on this quest alone. I am joined by someone who I've known since I was literally five years old, riding the bus to and from school. Now we are adult friends. |
| 0:55.9 | She's the creator of Breakfast in Boclair and other podcasts. It's Alyssa Estabon. |
| 1:00.7 | Alyssa, how's it going? I'm good. How are you? I'm doing well. I'm glad to be back in New York |
| 1:06.1 | after one month full of travel where I was in India and the Maldives and then Seattle. I was in New York for four total hours, unpacking and repacking, un-Indiaing my suitcase, and then Seattleing it. So exchanging shorts and bathing suits for jeans and flannels. And then going to Seattle, chill in there. And then my flight got canceled 10 minutes before boarding, which was super fun, meaning I stayed one extra day, meaning I was gone for one full month instead of 29 days. |
| 1:37.3 | That's the dream. |
| 1:38.7 | That's the freelancer's dream right there. |
| 1:40.4 | Yeah, it's great. |
| 1:41.6 | No, I'm glad to be back. |
| 1:43.1 | I'm in the studio in New York City. Things are |
| 1:45.4 | going well. How have you been? It's been a little bit since we've had you on the show. I have been very good. I feel like it's been a minute. Although my last episode of the Newest Olympian came out in December, I think we recorded in October. Yes. So there's been a ton of stuff this happened since then. My podcast, Breakfast-Boclair, is about The Witcher series, which if you guys listen to that episode, you'll remember. |
| 2:05.9 | But I got to virtually attend the Witcher second season's red carpet in London. |
| 2:11.6 | Super cool. |
| 2:12.5 | I got to talk to the showrunner there. |
| 2:13.7 | I got a staycation from Netflix to, like, do some experience here in New York and promote the show, which is awesome. |
| 2:20.2 | Started going through season four of Breakfast and Moclair covering The Witcher season two on Netflix. |
| 2:26.1 | So that has all been very exciting. |
| 2:28.9 | Continuing Spanish classes, painting outside, doing all the things. |
| 2:32.3 | So yeah, enjoying spring in New York, for sure. |
| 2:34.3 | That's fantastic. |
