So what is a panic attack?

A panic attack is explained as a rush of intense psychological and physical symptoms.

They can be frightening and they can happen all of a sudden and sometimes often for no clear reason.

They usually last between five and 20 minutes and although it may feel as though you're in some serious trouble

and something serious is going to happen,

they aren't dangerous and they shouldn't cause you any physical harm.

It's unlikely you will be admitted to hospital if you have a panic attack.
