Fitz, I love this mug you sent me.

I'm glad you like it.

It was the biggest handle I had.

Look, you told me, so you gave me a mug in January when I was in Chicago and saw you

and you said, hey, put this in your hand and feel it.

And it was literally the first time anybody had ever said that I should think about how a mug fits in my hand.

And I didn't like, I, I'd never considered it before I'd always just bought the mug that

had the picture on it that I wanted and I was absolutely heartbroken when I dropped a

pole on it a few months ago and it broke so I was stoked to get a fresh big handle bad

boy here with a lovely blue glaze.

A lot of potters hate handles.

They hate making them because they can be tricky.

And I always, when I first started focused on form, I focused on like what looks pretty or has a nice negative space or whatever and never really thought about like how it felt

in my hand. And then I was studying under this potter a year and a half ago, two years ago.

And she's like, all right, we're going to do handles. Let's, we're going to do make make handles for

an hour straight and just attach them to a bucket. Like just do anything to keep making handles.

And I think I made 43 handles in an hour.

Like I just motored through them.

And you could clearly look at the first five were just garbage.

But the last five were just like, yeah, it's starting to get there.

It's kind of kind of neat.

And then I started to think about like really what makes it feel like it's hugging your fingers.
