Hello everyone and welcome to this week's episode of The Centafiles.

I am, wow, it's weird to introduce myself first, but I am a writer, producer and host.

And my name is John Roca and I'm joined as always by my good friend and co-host Steve Morris.

Well, I mean, I am Steve Morris and I am a filmmaker and directing instructor, but John,

we usually open up the episode by saying that each week we enter the world of a great film and we explore.

It's, you know, it's themes, the history, the filmmaking, and the influence it has on us today, John.

You're right. You're right. You know what? You're much more practiced in doing this than I am.

But I am still excited to be leading this thing in a way for this episode.

So I apologize that I left off our big thing at the beginning explaining what our podcast is.

And for those who join us every week, thanks.

I beg your understanding and forgiveness ahead of time because this is the first time since

Hoosiers where I have taken the lead in doing this, doing a film.

And it's a, it's very similar to Hoosiers in a way because this is a film from the 1980s,

one of my favorite films, a film that I can go back and rewatch multiple times,

and still works on me today because of the themes and the, and the story and the questions that it asks of us as viewers.

And I think at times it gets unfairly forgotten because of all the other installments that came afterwards.

And today we're talking about, if you haven't read the title,

1982's First Blood, or as the kids call it nowadays, Rambo First Blood.
