uh... whenever we wrote uh... requirements documents you knew a requirement

because it said you know the the the software shall

do x-y or z if will is not enough the software shall do x-y and z and that's

how you knew

well it's a makes sense because will means like a prediction of what it will

do where shall is like a dictation of what it needs to do but

what yes yeah

can you not just substitute the word must for the word shall like it how are

how do those they may be got to look at the uh... the internet rfc's you know

those things as big documents right i believe they have a formal

definition of will shall must and all that stuff um... i don't know what's the

same as the ones that you had to deal with kc but it's definitely a thing

i probably was uh... this was when i was working at a big big big government

contractor

the first result is a page on the f a website weirdly uh... but basically

it says must and must not our words of obligation
