Hello everybody. Welcome to Latter Day Struggles. This is your host, Valerie. Happy to be here with you today to open up yet another series with my husband, Nathan Hamaker. Hello, Nathan Hamaker.

Hello, Valerie. How are you? Great. Great. We are embarking on a brand new series, and we've kind of gotten into the habit of being a little bit more organic and not making any promises about how many episodes this is going

to be.

And the main reason being that we sort of put these outlines together with kind of a vision in

mind about what we want to accomplish, but we reserve

the right to change our mind and to, I guess, a few times we've realized as we get going that,

like, oh, there's more to say about this. Like, we really can't skirt around that topic. It

matters too much. And so this is a high likelihood for this series.

Nathan and I actually, on the last series, tackling some of the issues of men and patriarchy,

we're going to spend an episode talking about its correlation to abuse. And as I got going on it, I quickly was like, hmm, this is not a good plan. There is way

too much to say about the correlation between patriarchy and abuse. And it also occurred to me

that I didn't want to tackle that topic, just pigeonhole and make that topic only about men and its

impact on men. I thought, no, this needs to be bigger and broader and it needs to talk about

all the parties connected to patriarchy and its connection to violence and abuse. And so

I kind of tweaked things in the last series and told Nathan, I think it'd be good

for us to really focus on this. Okay, anything you want to say as we open up, Nate? This is an
