Now here's the bewildering part of the book of judges in that period in history.

Repeatedly, the tribes wander away from honoring God into idolatry and compromise and immorality.

And they suffer the consequences of that and God raises up a leader to bring them back.

See, what we're watching is not unique to human history.

We're not the first civilization to have wandered.

We're not the first expression of God's people

who have forfeited holiness for comfort or convenience or ease.

It's easy to go say it's the end of the world.
