Labor got a landslide with only 34% of the vote.

The popular vote and the size of their representation in Parliament is way out of kilter.

They're not speaking for the working people.

If you go through the ranks of Labour MPs these days, everybody's got a degree.

You'd be hard-pressed to find four or five plumbers or electricians.

It's been a complete inversion.

Now, for instance, if you have a plumber or you get picked up by a taxi driver, you just assume they're voting conservative.

And you are 99% of the time right.

It's great to have you back on, not least because we need to work out what's going on in Australia.

You've had your federal election.

Labor has won. The Labour Party has won.

Anthony Albanese is back as Prime Minister, which it's fair to say some people

were surprised by that. The Liberal Party, Peter Dutton's Liberal Party, did not do very well.

So it looks like Australians have stuck with the status quo. And watching it from afar, it's hard

to work out what's really going on because some people

say, and this is a great tub-thumping victory for Labour. Other people are saying, actually,

there's interesting stuff going on under the surface. What's your overview of what the Australian

people said in that election? Well, first, and I hope this doesn't cause people to switch off, but I don't
