I'll be reading your letters on that show. So I was leading a group recently.

And in our check-in format, we talk about feelings.

And one of the guys in the group was talking about some stress in his life.

And at the end of his check-in, he asked a question.

He said, is stress perception?

Is it my perception of the situation or is it objective? And so I made a note of that,

wrote it down in my journal or my notes. And then when we came back to the discussion time

of our group, I posed it back to the group. And rather than just discuss that idea, that abstract idea,

I asked what stresses you out? What are the situations that stress you out? And it was really

interesting what came back. By and large part, the situations that stressed most guys out had to do somewhat with their

value or identity being challenged.

So guys talked about struggles at work where they felt unappreciated or where they felt like their boss

didn't get them or, you know, they weren't being recognized for something. That was a stressful

situation. Guys talked about having conflicts with their spouses and their wife was thinking one

thing of them and it was really challenging them.

Their wife was upset and so it was making them feel less valuable.

Another guy talked about situations where failure is involved.
