ADHD in older adults which is a truly fascinating and critically important topic.

Though ADHD is the fourth most common psychiatric condition among adults,

the fact is that few psychiatrists, neurologists and psychologists are trained adequately in how to recognize, diagnose, and treat midlife, or late life ADHD.

As a result, older adults may be misdiagnosed,

things like dementia, and may never receive

the support that they need to thrive.

So we're so honored to have Dr. Kathleen Nadeau.

She's the founder and clinical director

of the Chesapeake Center, ADHD Learning and Behavioral Health, which is in Bethesda, Maryland,

one of the largest private ADHD specialty clinics in the United States.

She is the recipient of the Chad Hall of Fame Award for her work in collaboration with Dr. Patricia Quinn on girls and Women with ADHD.

She's the author of more than a dozen books on ADHD and is a frequent lecturer

nationally and internationally.

Her upcoming book is called Still Directed After All These Years, so appropriate for today.
