Hello everyone and welcome back to I just want to talk about the Bible.

Let me welcome those of you for whom it is your first time with us.

I'm glad that you're here.

My name is Christian Keeter and I live in the southeast of the United States of America with my amazing,

beautiful godly wife Lacey and our two wonderful daughters, Felicity and Serenity.

Now today, we are going to be talking about something that every single one of us has dealt with

at various times and in various degrees over the course of our lives,

and also how to respond to that biblically. And obviously, judging by the title of the episode,

you've probably hardly guessed what that is, namely anxiety. So for the sake of our conversation

today, let me tell you how we're defining anxiety, because

you know, a lot of times when we use words, they can have like a whole host of meanings

in our minds.

And so I just want to make sure that we're all talking about the same thing here.

Anxiety is, and we also call it worry, we also call it stress and things like that, is when

there is a, we're feeling

fear in the present over something potentially happening in the future. And this could apply to

almost any arena of life. You know, we're, um, there is this, this foreboding sense of fear,

of worry, of stress, of anxiety to use all these terms, of something happening

or something not happening or things not going well. In fact, let me go ahead and just read a

couple of definitions from a couple of different sources. Here I've got Miriam Webster pulled up. First definition under anxiety, apprehensive

uneasiness or nervousness usually over an impending or anticipated ill, a state of being anxious.

And so that's how Merriam Webster defines it.
