I became aware of orbs about 45 seconds before you got on the call because I got a notification from Discord that was like, hey man, what's up with your orbs?

Wait, you didn't even know about orbs before?

I did not.

I did not know about orb exclusive frames on Discord.

Wait, but you've got a weird vanity name effect on Discord.

I assumed you spent Orb's to get that.

No, that's a perk. I got a note that this was like, hey man, what's your orb sitch? Or your perk sitch? And it just was like, you can change your name if you want. I was like, oh, okay, cool. I'll change my name. That sounds great. We are not actually advocating for Discord orbs here. It's probably a bad thing.

Yeah, I think they're bad to be talking about here. I have, yeah, 18,200 orbs currently. I've never spent money on orbs to be clear. Do you know how many orbs I have? How many do you have? Zero. Man, what? I got an orb deficit. Like an orb millionaire over here. like you well we did we people in the Discord to do this, but I know other people who do it too, who people who do all the Microsoft quests to get like free Xbox Live Ultimate. Yeah, I think, I think they've tamped that stuff down a little bit. My impression is you can't quite earn as much in the way of free Microsoft services as you used to, but I'm sure there's still ways to game that system. So people, when I complained that I wasn't going to jump through hoops to keep Windows 10 alive, people were like, oh, you just have to click on like three things to get enough points to turn on Windows 10 for one more year. And then I went and did it and I was like, oh yeah, it really was like clicking on three things. And then I had the thousand points or whatever it was.

But, yeah, like, I don't know, man.

This all feels like, it feels like, hey, what if we turn frequent flyer miles into an even more hellish system that's tied to your digital online presence?
