Yes, it's going to be a little bit of a weird one. Probably in more ways than one.

It's also my first time doing a proper episode with Reed, not whatever nonsense we did last time we were on the same call.

We are, yes, we're going to start in Genesis 1 and since Reed and I have a pension for maybe taking a long time with our episodes and drawing things out, let's just dive right into the text.

Brent, why don't you go ahead and start. We're on day four.

Yeah, Genesis 1, 14. And God said, let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times and days and years and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.

And it was so. God made two great lights, the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.

To govern the day and the night and to separate light from darkness and God saw that it was good and there was evening and there was morning the fourth day as we've been doing throughout this series.

We're just going to start, you know, 10 steps back just trying to pick out the most basic rudimentary elements of each day narratively, like what's being created.

How is God interacting with that creation? So what's the, what's the first thing that jumps out at us?

Well, I mean, the day four is our, is our center of the chiasm, the sacred times or seasons. Sure. Yes.

That we talked about so much. So that stands out, of course. And then I think, I think it always strikes me.

How it's this big deal? Like God made two great lights, a greater light to govern the day, the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.

Yes. I mean, maybe that's, maybe that's just like what Elle talked about in her series.

Maybe it's just a form of presentism because we know so much about the stars and we know how vast the universe is and we've, you know, we've seen the images from the James Webb Space Telescope.

So like we have all this detail about it. And it's like, I guess from their perspective, like the stars are just these little pinpricks of light. Like there's no, there's no real thing there. So maybe it's just that.

I mean, but it just, it strikes me how, how little attention is given to the stars.

It's true. And that is, that is in the text. Like if you, if you read it, you know, you have, you know, God introduces the two luminaries, the large one, and it goes into detail.
