Summary

Is your hydration optimal and do our supplement needs change in the summer? This is a key question as we enter the hot summer months. In this podcast I discuss the hydration index, beer and coffee being dehydrating, minerals in our water, electrolytes, the best filters, and lastly a few tweaks with our supplements in the summer months.

Hey everyone, Vancouver Radio, episode number 328. I hope you are having an awesome day.

0:06.4

By the way, next week, no, Thursday, James Haskell's on and I also tell you that it's

0:12.1

podcast 328 I I think so you know my mass is not

0:16.3

improving anyway today is a short sharp show I'm going to be talking about

0:20.8

hydration because we've been revising the Beverage

0:25.9

Hydration Index in our community we were having a discussion about it and also I

0:30.9

wanted to look at supplements this summer and whether anything changes with the seasons and your supplement and nutrient usage.

0:40.0

So let's dive straight in. This summer you're going to sweat more, you're going to be outside, you've got a need for hydration,

0:45.9

1:15.6

hydration anyway. So one thing I want to say right from the get-go is when you're looking at your

1:21.2

hydration, please try and hydrate with mineralized water.

1:27.0

So yes, that means bottled water. I don't really recommend bottled water because well it's expensive

1:35.1

it's not very green friendly and it's a bit of a pain in the ass picking up an

1:39.4

absolute ton of water from the supermarket so it might be that you filter your water with something like a Brita water filter and

1:46.8

add a tiny little pinch of sea salt into it or you make up a very light electrolyte

1:52.2

solution with all your water. Either way, I genuinely feel that we should all be having some form of minerals in our water because it helps the body absorb this solution.

2:03.2

TAT water, I mean I smell my TAT water, it's not great, it stinks of chlorine, I don't know what
